Back in May 2024, I collaborated with the online magazine The Napolitaner to create the cover for their 80th issue. The magazine, as the name suggests, celebrates the life and culture of Naples, a city in southern Italy. Being originally from Naples, I chose to illustrate one of my favorite places, Piazza Dante, using an isometric pixel art style inspired by artists such as eBoy, Paul Robertson, and Ivan Dixon. About 10 years ago, after university lectures, I often hung out with friends in this square. I aimed to capture the vibrant chaos and happiness I felt during those times.
Later, in September, the wandering market South Market commissioned me to design another cover for a special issue of The Napolitaner. This time, the theme was to depict the market itself in an imaginary location overlooking the iconic Gulf of Naples. Once again, I focused on conveying the bustling energy of the market on an open day.
